Tommaso Arenare, consultant at the Milan office, has published a blog contribution on the question of how to prepare for a new executive role. His article, entitled “Why the week before a new job starts is crucial for its long-term success”, recommends a thorough analysis of the situation, to gain clarity about the most pressing issues and initial strategic goals. Also, he recommends new executives to identify and understand the key stakeholders who are most important for the new role. Explaining these and other issues, Arenare points to the value of accelerating integration that starts well before Day 1 and concludes “As someone said, we only have one occasion to make a good first impression.”
