Based in Berlin, Mariam is active in Egon Zehnder’s Technology & Communications Practice. While drawing on her broad international experience as a banker, consultant, and business operator, she is passionate about helping both established enterprises and startups ensure effective leadership and unlock their growth potential. Mariam conducts management appraisals, develops individuals and teams, supports organizational transformations, and provides support for themes related to diversity and inclusion.
What energizes me is developing trust-based relationships with clients and supporting them to gracefully navigate new and ambiguous challenges.
Before joining Egon Zehnder, Mariam was a Growth Director at BCG Digital Ventures in Berlin, where she was responsible for building and scaling the B2B sales of clients’ technology ventures. Prior to that she spent five years at Silicon Valley-based startups, mainly in sales and business development roles. Before Mariam was a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group in New York focusing on retail and financial services clients. She started her career as an investment banker with Lincoln International in the US and Germany, focusing on M&A in the retail and business services sectors.
After studying business economics for two years at the University of Bamberg in Germany, Mariam earned a BA in finance and accounting from Roosevelt University in Chicago and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Outside work she acts as an angel investor, in addition to actively supporting members of disadvantaged groups in her local community.
