Christoph von Gagern, based in Munich, is active across Egon Zehnder’s Services and Consumer Goods practices with a particular focus on the travel & hospitality sector (airports, airlines and tour operators) as well as on apparel, fashion and sporting goods companies. He is a respected advisor to multinational companies and family-owned companies.
Enabling companies and individuals to succeed by building strong leadership teams and platforms for fulfilling careers has always been a key motivation in my professional life, in which I fully engage with all of my expertise and passion.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Christoph was a principal at the Boston Consulting Group in Munich. His work there included supporting private equity funds in creating value and advising multinational clients in the apparel and tourism sectors on strategy, M&A, sales and marketing, and operational efficiency. Christoph managed projects across Europe, the U.S. and Asia and also served as BCG’s Recruiting Director in Germany and Austria for several years.
Christoph earned a diploma in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt while spending a semester abroad at the Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in Chile. Outside work, he enjoys spending time in the mountains or on the water with his wife and three sons. Christoph speaks fluent German, English and Spanish.

Vor seinem Wechsel zu Egon Zehnder war Christoph von Gagern Principal bei der Boston Consulting Group und hat internationale Konzerne, Familienunternehmen und Private Equity Fonds in den Bereichen Tourismus, Fashion und Luxury Goods hinsichtlich Strategie, M&A, Marketing und Vertrieb sowie operationaler Effizienz beraten. Zudem war er mehrere Jahre lang als Recruiting Director für Deutschland und Österreich bei der Boston Consulting Group tätig
Christoph von Gagern hat an der Katholischen Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt sowie der Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile, seinen Abschluss als Diplom-Kaufmann gemacht.
