Before joining Egon Zehnder, Bhawana held several roles at Novartis Pharma in the US including helping launch Cosentyx, a biologic for patients with certain rheumatologic conditions. She was also Head of Insights and Analytics for the U.S Pharma business and led Commercial Execution Excellence for Novartis Asia. Previously, she was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company US, assisting clients in the pharmaceutical, medical devices, and health-care services sectors. Bhawana began her career at Arthur Andersen in the audit and business consulting group in India. Having lived and worked in different continents, Bhawana brings a global perspective on leadership, including an appreciation for the operational realities, and challenges and opportunities in nurturing global talent.
Bhawana has a Bachelor of Commerce with honors from the Lady Shri Ram College for Women of Delhi University and an MBA in Strategy, Finance, and Operations at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She became a chartered accountant at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Bhawana is passionate about spending time with her family and is also studying to be a vedic astrologer.
