Peter Gallagher, based in New York, leads Egon Zehnder’s Chief Supply Chain Officer Practice for North America and is also a core member of our Health Practice. Drawing on diverse industry experience in operational, commercial, and strategic roles, Peter advises CEOs, Boards and leadership teams of public and private capital companies, especially in the life sciences, on the assessment and development of executive talent. Peter brings a cross-industry lens to identify leaders with the potential to manage the complex demands of today’s Global Supply Chains.
What energizes me is exploring ideas with curious, courageous leaders who want to seize new opportunities and strengthen their capabilities to build innovative, engaged organizations.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Peter was a Vice President at the pharmaceutical company Teligent, where he led the design and build of a manufacturing plant. Previously he served in commercial and strategic planning roles in Brazil, first with Merck/MSD and then at the private equity-backed portfolio company Bausch+Lomb, leading up to its acquisition. Peter began his career in the Health industry during the transformation of Schering-Plough, initially in Global Supply Chain where he managed technology transfers across R&D and manufacturing sites, and then working with the CEO on the company’s global turnaround agenda. Earlier, he served as an Officer in the U.S. Navy’s nuclear-power program.
Peter earned his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA in finance from New York University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading about geopolitics, and training for triathlons.
