Based in Vienna, Gerald Klenner is a trusted advisor to clients across a wide spectrum of sectors - ranging from process industry, machinery, automotive and general manufacturing to technology & telecommunications, infrastructure, transportation & logistics, all the way to wholesale, retail, and professional services. He is an active member of Egon Zehnder’s global Industrial, Services, and Technology & Communications practices.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Gerald served as RHI’s Senior Vice President for Global Marketing & Technology, based in Vienna, and before that he worked in Canada as Head of the North and South America business unit. Earlier, Gerald was a Partner with McKinsey & Company based in the U.S., Germany, and Austria. There he played a key role in that firm’s global energy, metals, and chemicals practice and led its energy practice in Central and Eastern Europe.
Gerald earned an MSc in process engineering and a PhD in mechanical engineering with a specialization in fluid dynamics, both from TU Wien in Vienna. Gerald also earned a master’s degree in international economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
Outside work, he enjoys traveling, outdoor sports and spending time with his family.

Vor seinem Wechsel zu Egon Zehnder war Gerald Klenner als Senior Vice President für Global Marketing & Technology bei RHI in Wien tätig und davor in Kanada als Leiter der Business Unit Nord- und Südamerika. Zuvor war Gerald Klenner Partner bei dem globalen Beratungsunternehmen McKinsey & Company mit Aufenthalten in den USA, Deutschland und Österreich, wo er eine Schlüsselrolle in der globalen Energie-, Metall- und Chemiepraxis des Unternehmens einnahm und die Energiepraxis in Central- und Osteuropa leitete.
Gerald Klenner verfügt über ein abgeschlossenes Studium der Verfahrenstechnik (Dipl.-Ing.) und promovierte anschließend im Maschinenbau (Dr.techn.) mit Spezialisierung in Strömungsmechanik, jeweils an der Technischen Universität in Wien. Parallel studierte er Handelswissenschaften an der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien (Mag.rer.soc.oec.).
In seiner Freizeit reist er gerne, widmet sich sportlichen Aktivitäten im Freien und verbringt Zeit mit seiner Familie.
