The Boston Globe – Are Some Directors “Overboarding”?
With Sarbanes-Oxley increasing the responsibilities shouldered by today’s directors, do some individuals have a seat on too many US boards, asks The Boston Globe? Watchdogs complain that “overboarding” is already widespread, with time commitment widely perceived to be the biggest problem for most directors. Egon Zehnder consultant George L. Davis confirms this trend: “Our clients get really anxious when someone`s on three boards and wants to add a fourth board.”
