In addition to board and C-suite searches, he works closely with clients on management appraisals, leadership development, and board effectiveness. Bart is a member of the board of SOS Kinderdorpen NL.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Bart was a manager for strategy, planning, and control at De Nederlandsche Bank, the Dutch central bank. Before that, he worked for eight years at McKinsey & Company in Amsterdam and Johannesburg, focusing on energy, natural resources, consumer goods, and transportation.
Bart earned an MSc in chemical engineering and an MSc in applied physics from the University of Twente and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. He is married and takes inspiration from watching his three children discover the world and find their own way.
