Based in Dresden, Wasko Rothmann is a part of Egon Zehnder’s global Industrial Practice and leads our Dresden Office. He works primarily at the intersection of traditional industries and the technology sector. Before joining Egon Zehnder, Wasko was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company. He worked on digital and agile transformation, HR and organization, and the future of work. Prior to that, he spent several years researching and teaching at various universities in the field of management and organization. Early on in his career, he worked in the media and cultural business.
Wasko Rothmann holds degrees in Business Administration (Diplom-Kaufmann), Literature and Philosophy (Magister), and a PhD in Economics, with a focus on strategic management. He is a member of the editorial board of ZFO – Germany’s leading journal on Leadership + Organization – and serves on the Advisory Board of the Eastern German Economic Forum. Wasko Rothmann lives with his family in Dresden and is passionately engaged in promoting arts and culture, e.g. as a member of the board of trustees for the Semperoper.

Vor seiner Zeit bei Egon Zehnder war Wasko Rothmann Associate Partner bei McKinsey & Company. Seine Tätigkeitsgebiete umfassten digitale und agile Transformation, HR und Organisation sowie die Zukunft der Arbeit, ebenfalls mit einem Fokus auf Industrie- und Tech-Unternehmen. Zuvor unterrichtete er an diversen Universitäten und Hochschulen Management und forschte im Bereich Unternehmensführung und Organisation. Erste Karrierestationen waren im Medien- und Kulturbereich.
Wasko Rothmann erwarb einen Abschluss als Diplom-Kaufmann, einen Magister in Literaturwissenschaften und Philosophie und promovierte in Wirtschaftswissenschaften zu Fragen des strategischen Managements. Er ist Mitglied des Herausgeberbeirats der Zeitschrift Führung + Organisation und Mitglied des Advisory Boards des Ostdeutschen Wirtschaftsforums. Wasko Rothmann lebt mit seiner Familie in Dresden und engagiert sich u. a. im Kuratorium der Semperoper mit Leidenschaft für die Förderung von Kunst und Kultur.
