Based in London, Gizem Weggemans focuses on Chair, Board, CEO, CHRO and Executive Committee succession across the Consumer, Consumer Health, Hospitality/Travel, and Services sectors working with publicly listed, Private Equity-backed and family businesses. A passionate development advisor, Gizem works with individual leaders and leadership teams to help them realize their potential through targeted advisory and coaching. Having led the Firm’s Human Resources Officers Practice as well as the Corporate Affairs Officers Practice globally for several years, Gizem has also conceptualized, developed and launched Egon Zehnder’s “Transformational CHRO Program” in collaboration with the University of Cambridge and Mobius Executive Leadership, aimed at developing CHROs of the future across business, functional and self leadership.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Gizem was a Senior Director at the Corporate Executive Board and advised CEOs, CFOs, HR directors and chief strategy officers of Fortune 500 and middle-market companies. Previously, she worked as a Management Consultant with A.T. Kearney’s Global Business Policy Council, leading private- and public-sector assignments in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East while also managing the organization’s CEO retreats around the world. Her career began as a Research Analyst with the Overseas Development Council and she was later a Consultant with the World Bank in the office of the Chief Economist of the International Finance Corporation.
Gizem has an MA in international economics and European studies from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University and an MBAe from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She holds a BA in international relations and a BA in German language and literature, both from Tufts University.
