Based in New York, Marieke Witjes is globally active across the Services, Technology, Consumer and Private Capital practice groups, and is a leader in the Professional Services and Travel Tech segments. As an all-round transformation expert with deep functional expertise in governance and HR, Marieke works in executive search and is a trusted advisor for boards and executives on talent strategy, succession, corporate culture, as well as leadership and organizational effectiveness.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Marieke gained deep and broad experience supporting public and private businesses, governments and NGOs in their transformation journeys through global management consulting firm Kearney and as an independent consultant. She also spent a few years in-house as Talent and Transformation executive at Fareportal (travel tech) where she also served as the Chief Strategy Officer. Her publications include “Seizing Africa’s Retail Opportunities” and “Demystifying Corporate Culture.”
Marieke holds a BSc and MSc in international economics from Maastricht University and brings a truly global perspective. Raised in the Netherlands, she has lived and worked across the globe, including Amsterdam, Mumbai, Barcelona, Kampala, Melbourne, Johannesburg, and New York. Married with four children, she is a lifelong learner and continues to enjoy exploring the world. When she is not working, traveling, or reading, she enjoys theater performances, playing tennis, practicing yoga, and meeting friends in nature or over good (vegan) food.
