Egon Zehnder’s Natascha Jacobovits Talks About Hiring Digital Talent to Drive Change
Recruiting digital talent to drive change was the key issue explored by Natascha Jacobovits-van Boetzelaer, head of Egon Zehnder’s Global Digital Practice, at a recent conference for insurance executives in Asia. Jacobovits urged participants to adopt, but not to integrate digital talent. Instead of scattering new recruits across the company and pushing them to comply when onboarding, digital experts should be encouraged to form groups and exchange ideas. “Hiring digital talent is very different to hiring insurance talent,” warned Jacobovits. In her view, potential has replaced past performance as the key recruitment criterion. She advised participants to: “Look for people who can thrive on uncertainty, who are curious […] to know what’s going on out there and to connect all of those unrelated dots”. The event was attended by 130 senior executives from the entire Asian region.
