Based in Boston and St. Louis, Mark Stuart-Smith is a core member of Egon Zehnder’s Consumer Practice. He serves clients across the FMCG spectrum, with a particular focus on the Food & Beverage industry. Mark leads searches for CEOs, P&L leaders, and front-end functions, including senior marketing, sales, growth strategy, innovation, and R&D roles. In addition to his executive search work, Mark is appreciated by clients for strengthening management teams through organizational consulting in areas such as succession planning, executive assessment, coaching, and team development.

Over his 20 years with Egon Zehnder, Mark has led teams and client work within our private-equity, founder, and family-owned business groups. A co-founding member of Egon’s Washington, D.C. Office, Mark has also supported our growth in the Miami, New York, Boston, and St. Louis markets. Previously, he was a Global Principal in the CEO Advisory Group, where he partnered with Boards on over 115 CEO and C-Suite succession planning mandates across industries. Prior to his global role, he spent 10 years focused on North American clients in the personal and home care segments helping build digital, omnichannel, marketing, and personalization capabilities.
Outside of his client work, Mark is involved in not-for-profit board and volunteer work with LGBTQ and Arts organizations. He earned an MBA in marketing, strategy, and management from NYU’s Stern School of Business and his BA in literature and history from Vassar College. Mark, his husband, and their two kids enjoy going to the opera and theater, travel, food, and an occasional hike.
