Connect With Me

Marwa Joy Zohdy, based in Chicago, co-leads Egon Zehnder’s Health Services Practice, where her work focuses on CEO succession, executive search, and board advisory services with healthcare providers and payers, drawing on her 20 years of experience in the sector. She advises clients across the healthcare continuum—from research and development to care delivery—on vital leadership decisions.

Leadership is the key to positive change, and it’s immensely rewarding to advise leaders in an industry that so directly impacts people’s health and lives.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Marwa served as the Vice President of Global Consulting Services for The Joint Commission, where she led a global team of 150 expert consultants working to improve the quality and safety of healthcare delivery around the world. Prior, she spent almost a decade with McKinsey & Company, advising top leaders of hospitals, academic medical centers, and national and regional ministries of health across the U.S., U.K., Middle East, and North Africa. Marwa also served as a Knowledge Expert with McKinsey’s Health Systems Institute and was active in the recruitment and professional development of consultants worldwide.

Marwa earned an MS and Ph.D. in biomedical engineering and a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. Her Ph.D. research focused on ultrasound imaging and targeted laser therapy for cancer cells. Marwa is passionate about helping the healthcare industry benefit from diversity of ideas, experiences, expertise, and backgrounds. Outside of work, she chairs the board of the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU), a national nonprofit organization that provides objective research and education on American Muslims.
