Based in Chicago, Marwa Joy Zohdy is an active member of Egon Zehnder’s global Health Practice. She draws on first-hand executive leadership experience and deep technical expertise to advise clients across the healthcare continuum from technological discovery to delivery of patient care. Marwa is passionate about helping the healthcare industry benefit from diversity in terms of ideas, experiences, expertise, and backgrounds.

Before joining Egon Zehnder, Marwa served as the Vice President of Global Consulting Services at Joint Commission Resources and Joint Commission International, where she led a global team of 150 expert consultants working to improve the quality and safety of healthcare delivery around the world. Earlier, she worked at McKinsey & Company, advising top leaders of hospitals, academic medical centers, and national and regional ministries of health across the U.S., U.K., Middle East, and North Africa. Marwa also served as a Knowledge Expert with McKinsey’s Health Systems Institute and was active in the recruitment and professional development of consultants worldwide.
Marwa earned an MS and Ph.D. in biomedical engineering and a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. Her Ph.D. research focused on ultrasound imaging and targeted laser therapy for cancer cells. Outside of work, she chairs the board of the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU), a national nonprofit organization that provides objective research and education on American Muslims.
