Based in London, Elizabeth Joseph is an active member of Egon Zehnder’s Industrial Practice Group, leveraging her strong expertise and deep experience to support clients while focusing on energy, cleantech, sustainability and the blue economy.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Elizabeth spent a number of years in various roles at Shell across the UK, most recently in the shipping department where she was responsible for designing environmental management and decarbonisation strategies for the company’s maritime fleet. She gained experience across several upstream and downstream operational assets, leveraging her engineering, leadership, and advisory expertise to help improve sustainability, emergency response strategies and people and asset risk management outcomes. Elizabeth also completed internships at Anheuser-Busch InBev in Switzerland, where she provided advice on supply chain operations, and at WorleyParsons in Australia as a coastal engineer. Earlier, she worked in land management services for the government of the state of Western Australia.
Elizabeth earned a BEng in environmental engineering (with honours) and a BA in Italian from the University of Western Australia, while also spending a year abroad at the Catholic University of Milan. In addition, she holds an international diploma in occupational health and safety from NEBOSH and earned an MBA from London Business School (LBS) with specialisations in strategy, technology & analytics, and entrepreneurial management. She also spent a semester abroad at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. Elizabeth is a chartered engineer in the UK and Australia (with the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology and Engineers Australia) and a chartered safety and health professional. Outside work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, playing the clarinet and travelling to other countries to explore diverse cultures and cuisines.
