Based in San Francisco, Derek Bennett is active in Egon Zehnder’s Technology & Communications and Consumer practices. An accomplished and deeply experienced executive who’s led organizational change across several sectors, he takes a broad business perspective to help clients overcome obstacles and succeed in dynamic environments. Derek draws on wide ranging expertise gained across government, consumer, and technology industries with special emphasis on strategy and go-to-market operations.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Derek led global small business sales and support enablement functions at Meta. He has also helped launch Google Fiber as well as Google Stadia, and served as the Chief of Staff & Global Director of Strategy & Operations at Stubhub. Derek launched his business career at the Boston Consulting Group, but his practice and study of leaders & leadership began as an officer in the US Army, serving in command and senior staff roles in the US, Germany and Iraq.
Derek earned a BS in political science and systems engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Outside of work, Derek enjoys cooking, driving California’s winding coastline, juggling multiple reading lists, video games and film.
