The Consumer Goods Forum Launches Purpose-Driven Future Leadership Programme in Collaboration with Egon Zehnder and Boston Consulting Group

PARIS, 27th January 2022 – The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF), with a mission to support the development of the industry’s next generation of purpose-driven leaders, today announced it has joined forces with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Egon Zehnder to launch the next generation of its Future Leaders Programme (FLP), which will include a combination of state-of-the-art content, intimate connections, and community building for a hand selected group of up-and-coming leaders.

As health, economic and social challenges impact the priorities and skills of those at the helm of today’s consumer goods businesses, the programme will support the industry’s next generation of purpose-driven leaders, providing both the knowledge and relationships required on the path to the C-level. Together, CGF, BCG and Egon Zehnder combine unrivalled strategic industry insights and leadership expertise into a unique programme guided by a shared commitment to supporting purpose and sustainability.

Combining BCG’s industry-leading expertise and partnership with executives in business to tackle the most important business challenges, and Egon Zehnder’s understanding of the future of leadership and how to transform the C-Suite of tomorrow, creates unparalleled perspectives that will drive forward more purposeful leadership.

Wai-Chan Chan, Managing Director of The Consumer Goods Forum, said, “Our future as an industry will be defined by our ability to collaborate to help achieve the UN SDGs and deliver meaningful change. Our all-new FLP, co-created with the support of Egon Zehnder and Boston Consulting Group, will help the next generation learn what it means to be a purpose-driven leader, but also provides them with the contacts and professional networks that could lead to more fruitful collaborations in the future”.

Jill Ader, Chairwoman, Egon Zehnder, said, “Today’s leaders have entered a new era requiring a shift in mindset and behaviours, and the ability to navigate complexity with humanity. Our purpose is to develop leadership for a better world, and we are honoured to collaborate with CGF and BCG to co-create this programme and support the next generation of consumer goods leaders as they grow in their careers”.

Rohan Sajdeh, Global Leader, Consumer and Retail, BCG, said, “This unique programme will bring together forward-looking industry perspectives and a fresh collaborative approach to leadership that is required to navigate the most important business challenges today. We look forward to our combined efforts to empower future leaders to think about how to best generate growth, while building sustainable competitive advantage, and positive societal impact”.

The six-month programme, which includes eight sessions, will launch on 28th January and will cover a wide range of topics carefully curated to represent agenda priorities for most leadership teams in the industry. The programme will deliver practical and actionable insights while creating multiple opportunities to collaborate across companies on common challenges such as sustainable development.

The inaugural cohort of 52 participants represents 24 companies and 21 countries and will form the foundation of a wider community over the coming years.
