The Houston Chronicle – Shareholder Activism Now “Part Of The Agenda”
The trend towards shareholder activism continues to gather impetus. According to The Houston Chronicle, many large companies based in Houston have recently come under fire from shareholders. “I think three years ago a lot of people were caught off guard because it was new,” comments Egon Zehnder consultant Steve Goodman. He now sees shareholder activism as “part of the agenda today”. Although investor initiatives do not always succeed, they have prompted boards to raise their game, he adds.
