Based in Singapore, Yi Chung (“YC”) is a core member of Egon Zehnder’s Health practice group, advising pharmaceutical and medical devices companies, as well as providers on their CEO and C-suite succession across the Asia Pacific region. He also works closely with leaders in both large multinationals and smaller family-owned enterprises to drive team performance, culture change, and their own personal leadership transformation. Other than Health, YC is an active member of the Public & Social Sector, as well as HR practices.
My goal is to enable leaders to do the hard things they care about, by being a bigger and truer version of themselves.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, YC served as Director at the Singapore Ministry of Health, where he was involved in launching the first nationwide public telehealth service and developing the roadmap for the wider transformation of Singapore’s primary care sector. He spent the first decade of his public service career at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), working closely with global healthcare companies to chart their growth in Asia. He also led the development of Singapore’s national life sciences R&D investment strategies and founded EDB’s Switzerland office.
YC has an M.Phil in Bioscience Enterprise from the University of Cambridge and a B.Sc (Hons) in Biomedical Engineering with a second major in French from Johns Hopkins University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time in the mountains and sea, and creating memorable experiences with friends and family, especially his two young children.
